Zone 1
Left side of forehead Digestion and Bladder Pay particular attention along the hairline and eyebrows. If there is a lot of congestion and breakout activity in this area, relative to the rest of their face, this may be due to digestive problems (i.e. wheat allergies or constipation) Zone 2 Between the eyebrows Liver If there is a lot of congestion in this area, the client may be lactose intolerant or have consumed a lot of rich foods recently. Also, if you eat late at night, the body does not have time to digest properly, making this area flaky in the “wine-and-dine area.” Zone 3 Right side of forehead Same as Zone 1 Zone 4 Right ear Kidneys Comedones or congestion are common inside the ears because of product build-up or phone use. Hot ears may indicate kidney stress – perhaps from too much caffeine and red meat consumption. Zone 5 Right cheek Sinus and lungs (upper area) Gums and teeth (lower area) Broken capillaries or congestion may be a result of smoking, allergies, sinus problems, or from a chest infection. If milia and congestion in the cheek area this could have been caused by a cosmetic blush or foundation that contains comedogenic ingredients. Deep lines that run vertically up the cheek may indicate long-term lung stress. Sporadic breakouts in the lower area can relate to gum or tooth problem, or to improper telephone hygiene. Zone 6 Right eye Kidney and allergies Milia in the area can be caused by make-up that contains comedogenic ingredients, such as synthetic colors and eye shadows that glitter or have high shine. May also be cause by using Vaseline or mineral oil to remove make-up. Congestion in this area may result from eyeglass wear. Dark circles or congestion under the surface of the eye orbit are often hereditary, but are worsened by poor elimination and lack of sleep. Eyelid irritation can mean allergies, or a deficiency in the diet. Zone 7 Nose area above the upper lip (between the nose and lips) Heart and reproduction This zone tends to have the most congestion of all the zones due to the excessi of sebum production in this area. Also, look for broken capillaries round the nostrils, a sure indication or poor extraction techniques. A high color on the nose can be a sign of high blood pressure. Congestion or pigmentation on the area between the nose and upper lip is a sign of hormonal disruption (i.e. menstruation, menopause, birth control pills, pregnancy). Comedones along the lip line will indicate the use of lip balm, lipstick or lip liners with comedogenic ingredients (i.e. artificial color) are being used. An up-tilted nose can mean upper respiratory distress (i.e. shallow breathers, allergies and asthma) Zone 8 Left eye Kidney and allergies Same as Zone 6 Zone 9 Left cheek Sinus and lungs (upper area) Gums and teeth (lower area) Same as Zone 5 Zone 10 Left ear Kidneys Same as Zone 4 Zone 11 Left side of chin Ovaries Under surface congestion can be due to the insufficient cleansing all the way down to the jaw-line, leaving make-up and cleanser residue. Congestion and breakout activity can also be hormonal, as with the upper lip in Zone 7. If there are breakouts along the jawbone near the ear, there may be problems with their back teeth (wisdom), or from recent dental surgery or x-rays. Females are prone to breakouts during their monthly cycle, usually on one side or the other depending on the body’s ovulation activity. Zone 12 Chin Reproduction and small intestine Same as Zone 11 Plus, you may also see hair in this zone, due to hormones. Redness or congestion on the front of the chin may be experiencing problems with the small intestine – spicy foods, food allergies and a history of digestive problems. Zone 13 Right side of chin Same as Zone 11 Zone 14 Neck and chest Breakout activity in this area is an indication of high stress levels. Pigmentation may reveal photosensitivity to fragrances over a long period of time, or insufficient application of sun care products to the neck and chest area. This area is commonly exposed to the sun and should always b protected because it is the first zone to really show signs of aging on a woman.
